Deck Posts / Newel
A word about our dimensions and sizes...
|
Our Deck Posts do not have notches. The Building codes in some areas do not allow notches, while other zoning officials permit them, so it is best if we make them without notches.
If you do want a notch on your deck posts, just let us know and we’ll be glad to make them.

A few tips when choosing deck posts;
Compared to big box stores our deck posts are machined after treatment, resulting in a much smoother looking finish. Our deck posts are avalaibe in pressure treated or cedar wood. When using cedar 3X3 -36" spindles, consider using 6X6- 54" deck posts. Our most popular design is the balltop deck posts. Or you could use colonial deck posts with a post top of your choice.

The deck post railing and the way it connects to the deck and adjacent stairs and its spacing is very critical. If it is not done properly, it can be dangerous. Over time the deck posts can wobble and become very unsafe.
