How to Install Handrail and Vinyl Railing
Free Tips on Installing Vinyl Railings
- Make sure you always use a sharp blade so you don't chip the vinyl handrail out.
- Make sure you cut your angle correctly for the stair rail. Determine the level placement of your handrails and mark it.
- Make sure that the top handrail and the bottom vinyl rail are cut to exactly the same length.
- Always begin with the bottom vinyl rail section first. 5) Important Tip About Installing Vinyl Pickets: When putting the top rail on the vinyl picket, start at one end -putting your balusters into he pockets, and move over the end. Work one pocket at a time.
- When cutting top and bottom vinyl handrail to length, cut 1/4 inch shorter than the measurement between the posts to make sure the top and bottom rails are not pushing your vinyl posts out. Your bracket will cover the 1/8" on either side.
- When you are fastening the brackets to the vinyl posts, never over tighten! So it doesn't mess with the hidden fastener cap snapping into place
